The competition is open to musicians aged 20 to 33, representing 14 orchestral specialties: string instruments (violin, viola, cello, double bass), woodwind instruments (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon), brass instruments (French horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba), percussion instruments, harp. This year, 320 applications were received for the competition , 316 of which were admitted to the jury's absentee review. Applications were submitted by musicians from 115 settlements in 54 regions of Russia - students of 27 higher educational institutions from 19 cities (6 countries), representatives of 79 musical groups in 25 cities in three countries.
