Alexandra Stychkina

Born in Moscow in 2003 into a family of prominent musicians and filmmakers, Alexandra Stychkina is a student at the Central Music School of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Mira Marchenko. She has attended master classes by András Schiff in Wigmore Hall and by Sergey Babayan at Verbier Festival. 

In 2014, Alexandra Stychkina became a prize-winner of Astana Piano Passion 2nd International Festival of Classical Music and Competition for Young Pianists (Kazakhstan), 2nd Nodar Gabunia Piano Competition in Tbilisi and 1st Vladimir Krainev Moscow International Piano Competition. In 2018 she won the 2nd prize at the Martha Argerich Project competition in Lugano and the 3rd prize at Frederic Chopin International Competition in China. The following year brought her the 5th prize at Marguerite Long – Jacques Thibaud International Competition in Paris. <>

She holds a grant from Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation and is involved in the New Names projects. 

The pianist has appeared at the Moscow Conservatory, Moscow International House of Music, Chamber Hall of the Moscow Philharmonic and Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. She has toured in France, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, and Estonia and performed with famous Russian orchestras under Ilya Gaisin, Evgeny Bushkov, Igor Lerman, and other conductors. 

2014 saw her debut at the Tchaikovsky Hall with Moscow Virtuosi State Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Vladimir Spivakov, while in 2016 the pianist toured with the ensemble in Georgia and Armenia. The same year, she took part in subscription concerts of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory with Vladimir Spivakov and also in Svetlanov Hall of the House of Music with Ken David Mazur. Under Vladimir Spivakov, she also appeared at Oleg Yankovsky Creative Discovery Prize award ceremony at the Wild Cherry Forest festival. 

In the spring of 2017, Alexandra Stychkina made her debut at the London Barbican Center. In December 2018, she participated in the 13th Contemporary Piano Faces International Festival at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. In April 2019, she debuted at the Small Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic in a commemoration concert for the 75th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Krainev.
