Artemy Veliky

Artemy Veliky was born in 1994 in Moscow. He studied music theory and choral conducting at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory’s Academic College of Music (Leonid Pavlov’s class). During his studies, he assisted Pavlov in his work with the school's choir, including preparations for performances at the International Festival of Orthodox Music "Hajnówka" (Poland) and on tour in Russia and Germany. He has participated in the choir’s concerts in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Yekaterinburg, Simferopol, Munich, Leipzig and Berlin as an accompanist. Mr. Veliky graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 2020 (Professor Valery Polyansky's class of opera and symphony conducting). He is currently enrolled on a postgraduate programme. <<cut>>

Since 2015, he has been working with the State Academic Symphony Capella of Russia under Valery Polyansky (first as a concert pianist, then also as an assistant conductor). In 2017, he assisted French conductor Jean-Christophe Spinosi in rehearsing Handel's Messiah prior to the performancen at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall (with the Matheus and Intrada ensembles). 

The conductor's repertoire includes operas by Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Verdi, Puccini, cantatas and oratorios by Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Mendelssohn, and symphony works by Borodin, Rachmaninoff, Myaskovsky, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Stravinsky, Schubert, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Bruckner, Mahler, Schoenberg, and others.
