    Stepan Starikov

    Stepan Starikov was born on November 24, 1992, into a family of musicians. He began studying the violin at the age of five under the Honored Art Worker of Russia G. Turchaninova. Since 2007 and till the present day, he has studied in the class of the People’s Artist of Russia Prof. S. Girshenko. In 2011, he graduated with honors from the Central School of Music under the Moscow StateTchaikovsky Conservatory. In 2016, he received a degree from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and since then has continued his education there as a postgraduate. He was six when he first performed in public, and he appeared with a symphony orchestra at the age of ten.

    Stepan Starikov is the laureate of many international competitions such as the 1st prize of the VI International Competition of Young Musicians (Moscow, 2009), 1st prize of the I Mario Filioley International Violin Competition (Italy, 2011), Golden medal holder of the Manhattan International Music Competition (New York, USA, 2019), 2nd prize of the Fifth Agustin Aponte International Competition (Spain, 2020). 

    Starikov went on tours to Japan, Denmark, Italy, Germany, Cyprus, and the USA. He gave performances in many Russian cities, the Great, Small and Rachmaninov Halls of the Moscow Conservatory, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall of the Moscow Philharmonic Society, Chamber Halls of the Moscow Philharmonic Society and the Moscow International Performing Arts Centre. The musician has worked with the Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra, Hofer Symfoniker (Germany), Lithuanian National Philharmonic Orchestra, Saint Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra, Moscow Conservatory Great and Chamber orchestras, Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, Yaroslavl Academic Symphony Orchestra, Russian Chamber Orchestra of Kursk, Musica Viva. He performed with conductors, such as S. Ostapenko, S. Orlov, A. Gershfeld (USA), N. Rogotnev, S. Oselkov, S. Proskurin, V. Valeev, V. Uryupin, M. Leontyev, A. Shurov, E. Grandy (Germany), M. Pitrenas (Lithuania), A. Titov.
