Gaetano Donizetti – "Roberto Devereux"

Spanish Mezzo soprano Nancy Fabiola Herrera entrances audiences and critics around the world. She stands out for the "beauty of her voice her outstanding musicality and commanding stage presence", making the spanish mezzo one of the most relevant artists of the opera scene today. Her "hypnotizing interpretation" of Carmen has made the specialized press called her "The Carmen of the XXI Century" performing this role at the Metropolitan Opera, Covent Garden,Bolshoi Theater,Deutsche Oper Berlin, Munich Bayerische Staatsoper, Caracalla, Sidney Opera, among many others and being recipient of the Placido Domingo Award for her interpretation of this role.

Ms. Herrera enjoyed great successes on 2017 with her debut as Leonore in La Favorite at Teatro Pérez Galdós (Spain), as Fenena in Nabucco next to Placido Domingo and James Conlon at Los Angeles Opera, Herodias in Salomé at the Metropolitan Opera, Cecilia in Las Golondrinas at Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, Rossini’s Stabat Mater with the RTVE Orchestra, Das Lied von der Erde with the Orquesta de Extremadura (Spain), Kindertotenlieder with Peru’s National Orchestra, Les Nuits d’Été at the Festival Casals in Puerto Rico and concerts with Plácido Domingo in México and Los Angeles. 

Other recent debuts include Eboli in Don Carlo at Teatro del Canal in Madrid, at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow as Sara in Roberto Devereaux. She brought her critically acclaimed interpretation of Salud in La Vida Breve to the Cincinnati Symphony under the baton of Juanjo Mena, and Samson & Dalilah at he Ópera de Oviedo (Spain). 

Her recital and concert work has taken her to work with some of the most relevant orchestras and conductors around the world. 

She just released her latest album of french and spanish melodies Ensueños for AIM Records.

Ms. Herrera also has two DVDs to her credit - the opera Il Postino by Daniel Catán and the zarzuela Luisa Fernanda both with Plácido Domingo. 

Future engagements inlcude Rossini´s Stabat Mater with the Malaga Orchestra and Verdi´s Réquiem in Palma de Mallorca (Spain), her debut at Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires as Isabella in Italiana in Algeri next to Maestro Antonello Allemandi, the premiere of La Casa de Bernarda Alba at Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, Florencia en el Amazonas with the Houston Grand Opera and concerts at the Palau de la Música in Valencia, at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, Grand National Theater in Lima and Auditorio Nacional del SODRE in Uruguay.

Novaya Rossiya State Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1990 by decree of the Russian Government. In 2002, Yuri Bashmet became the orchestra's Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, opening a new page in the ensemble's history. 

The orchestra has collaborated with renowned conductors and soloists, including Valery Gergiev, Tan Dun, Alexander Lazarev, Teodor Currentzis, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Andres Mustonen, Maxim Vengerov, Jean-Luc Ponty, Barry Douglas, Peter Donohoe, Denis Matsuev, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Boris Berezovsky, Viktor Tretiakov, Gidon Kremer, Vadim Repin, Anne-Sophie Mutter and Sergey Krylov, Kristóf Baráti, Viktoria Mullova, Natalia Gutman, David Geringas, Alexander Knyazev, James Galway, Deborah Voigt, Anna Netrebko, Laura Kleikomb, Plácido Domingo, Montserrat Caballé, Anna Caterina Antonacci, Patricia Cioffi, Elīna Garanča and ballet dancers Ulyana Lopatkina, Nikolai Tsiskaridze and Ilze Liepa as well as actors Konstantin Khabensky and Sergei Bezrukov.

Since 2002, the orchestra has given over 1000 concerts in Russia and abroad. Russian performances have taken place in Moscow and St. Petersburg, cities and towns of the Volga region and the Golden Ring, of the Urals and Siberia, while international tours have brought the musicians to countries like Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, Republic of Korea, Spain, Switzerland, UK, Baltic and Nordic countries, and many others. 

The orchestra's repertoire combines classical and contemporary music of various styles and genres. It has premiered works by Gian Carlo Menotti, Edison Denisov, Mikael Tariverdiev, Sofia Gubaidulina, Giya Kancheli, Alexander Tchaikovsky, Tan Dun, Jean-Luc Ponty, Toru Takemitsu, Igor Raichelson, Emil Tabakov, Alexander Baltin, Vladimir Komarov, Boris Frankstein, Georgy Buzogly, Kuzma Bodrov and Alexey Sumak. 

The orchestra regularly appears at Yuri Bashmet's Winter International Arts Festival in Sochi and at international festivals in Yaroslavl, Rostov-on-Don and Minsk. It has taken part in the Mstislav Rostropovich Festival, Moscow Easter Festival, Guitar Virtuosi and Vivacello Festivals. The orchestra's discography includes works by Mozart, Beethoven, Weber, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, and Alexander Tchaikovsky. 

In March 2007, the orchestra received a grant from the Government of the Russian Federation, followed by the Grant of the President of the Russian Federation in 2010. In 2014, Novaya Rossiya was involved in preparing and running the cultural programme of the 22th Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. 

In the 2021/22 season, the orchestra presents subscription concert cycles at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and the Rachmaninov Concert Hall (Philharmonia-2) in Moscow, some of which will focus on young audiences. Conductors Alexander Sladkovsky, Igor Razumovsky, Denis Vlasenko and soloists Alena Baeva, Gaik Kazazian, Viviane Hagner, Zlatomir Fang, Boris Berezovsky, Dmitry Masleyev, Olga Seliverstova, Yaroslav Abaimov and many others will appear alongside the orchestra throughout the season.

Grand choir was founded in 1928, its founder and first artistic director was a master of choral art A.V.Sveshnikov. At various times, he was guided by such great musicians as N.S.Golovanov, I.M.Kuvykin, K.B.Ptitsa, L.V.Ermakova.

In 2005, the Grand Choir (known as the «Masters of Choral Singing») for the post of artistic director was invited by the People’s Artist of Russia, Professor Lev Kontorovich. Under his leadership, the updated composition of the choir successfully continues the traditions established by their predecessors. The name itself — «Masters of Choral Singing» — determined the professionalism, high level of performance, exceptional speed and versatility of the team, where each artist can act as a member of the choir and as a soloist.

For 85 years, the choir performed more than 5,000 works — operas, oratorios, cantatas Russian and foreign composers, works a’cappella, folk songs and sacred music. Many of them were the «golden fund» of the national record, gained recognition abroad (Grand Prix competition of recordings in Paris, the «Gold Medal» in Valencia). In the performance of a large choir were first heard many choral works by Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Shchedrin, Aram Khachaturian, O.Taktakishvili, V.Agafonnikova, Yu.Evgrafova etc.

With a large choir at various times such outstanding conductors as E.Svetlanov, M.Rostropovich, V.Spivakov, D.Kitaenko, V.Fedoseev, H.Rilling, G.Rozhdestvensky, A.Dzedda, E.Morrikone, V.Jurowski, M.Pletnev, K.Eshenbah; singers E. Obraztsova, I.Arkhipov, N.Gedda, D.Hvorostovsky, A.Netrebko, Z.Sotkilava, E.Nesterenko, R.Alanya, A.Georgiu, V.Ladyuk and many others.

In 2008 and 2012 the Grand choir took part in the inauguration ceremony of President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev and Vladimir Putin.

Grand choir clapped their hands in the major concert halls of Russia, Italy, France, Germany, Israel, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Japan, South Korea, Qatar, Indonesia and others held touring Grand choir for major cities of the Urals and Siberia (Dmitri Hvorostovsky) and the Far East.
