Gennady Rozhdestvensky Conducts. "Mozart and..."
Moscow Philharmonic Society is excited to announce Subscriptions series featuring personal performances by legendary musician and maestro Gennady Rozhdestvensky!
This outstanding program is a constant demand item among connoisseurs of academic culture. And it’s in no way less exciting for those who rarely attend classical music performances or even find themselves at a concert venue first time in their life. And all due to the fact that Mr. Rozhdestvensky, the author and main protagonist of this project, is not simply a great musician and conductor, but a person who talks openly and excitingly about music, its authors, often unveiling beauty in the mundane and discovering overlaps and similarities in seemingly polar phenomena.
This season maestro Rozhdestvensky rewinds music history back to Mozart's masses and symphonic and instrumental pieces by 20th century composers: Karol Szymanowski, Dmitri Shostakovich, Paul Hindemith, Sergei Prokofiev.
Traditionally, the series will feature performances by longtime partners of maestro Rozhdestvensky: State Symphony Capella of Russia (Valery Polyansky, chief conductor), Alexander Rozhdestvensky (violin) and Viktoria Postnikova (piano), as well as solo performers from Moscow Chamber Musical Theatre where Mr. Rozhdestvensky works as its Music Director.
