New Tretyakov opened in November 1979 as a multi-purpose exhibition venue where painters, arts experts, desiners, musicians, photographers, movie makers, authors and general public can freely discuss topics of professional interest and attend a multitude of events. In addition to arts exhibitions, New Tretyakov hosts live concerts by Russian and international performers and international music festivals.
