Grand Piano Competition opens in the Tchaikovsky Hall
From June 13 to June 18, 2024, the 4th International Grand Piano Competition is being held in Moscow, which supports young performers, expands and strengthens international connections. The specific feature of the Competition is that no participant is eliminated after the first round, all of them continue to the final. One of the contestants will receive the Grand Prix – an acoustic grand piano.
Aitore Azamatuly (Kazakhstan), Lev Bakirov (Russia), Zakhar Vnutskikh (Russia), Charlie Wu (Australia), Ye An (China), Zarudneva Varvara (Russia), Vladimir Karyakin (Russia), Ziqing Lin (China), Elisey Mysin (Russia), Kirill Rogovoi (Russia), Vladimir Rublev (Russia), Thales Yun Hei Chan (Hong Kong), Ivan Chepkin (Russia), Ziyu Shao (China), Lucas Chiche (Switzerland) are taking part in the competition.
The opening concert of the Grand Piano Competition will take place on June 13 in the Tchaikovsky Hall with the Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Alexander Sladkovsky and a brilliant team of soloists – Denis Matsuev, Sergei Davydchenko, Ivan Bessonov and Pyotr Akulov. The program includes Concerto for four pianos and orchestra by Alexander Tchaikovsky (world premiere), “Burlesque” by Richard Strauss and Concerto for two pianos and orchestra by Francis Poulenc.
The 1st round auditions will take place in the Concert Hall of the Central Music School – Academy of Performing Arts, the 2nd round and the final gala concert will take place in the Tchaikovsky Hall. The young soloists will be accompanied by the Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Ivan Nikiforchin. The competition program includes master classes by famous pianists and members of the competition jury.
