    Alexandra Budo

    Born in Moscow, Alexandra Budo studied at the Gnessin State Musical College and the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory where she also completed her assistantship course. She has participated in conferences on children’s music education and attended master classes at the Summer Chamber Music School in Reichenau (Austria). 

    As part of Credo quartet, Alexandra Budo received the 1st prize and two special prizes of the Taneev international competition in Kaluga (Russia, 2002), the 2nd prize of the Johannes Brahms competition in Pörtschach, (Austria, 2006), the Grand Prix and the Audience Award of the Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition (USA, 2008) and others awards, as well as the Shostakovich Prize for performing contemporary music. She has appeared in Vienna, Zurich, Ancona, and other European cities.

    In 2003–2016, Alexandra Budo was a member of Novaya Rossiya State Symphony Orchestra. Presently, she plays in chamber ensembles and collaborates with young composers, also serving as a jury member of music competitions. For her educational activities she received an appreciation letter from the head of the Smolensk city. 

    As an educator, Alexandra Budo developed a music education programme for children under seven and Musical Tales for Kids programme combining music, painting and literature (co-authored by artist Galina Koser). She is also monographic concerts’ presenter at the Moscow Philharmonic Society. 

    Alexandra was awarded an Honorary Diploma of the Moscow Conservatory for her contribution to the development of chamber music (2009) and a Commendation of the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation for her contribution to Russian culture (2011).
